Resident of the Month August 2026: Jeanette Siukola, Traditions at Solana

This month, we are delighted to celebrate Jeanette Siukola, who has been part of the Traditions at Solana family for almost a year. Jeanette moved to Traditions at Solana in September 2025, a decision her family made with her best interest at heart and one she wholeheartedly agrees with!
Jeanette was born in Chicago and grew up in Calumet City, where she built a life rooted in family, faith, and creativity. She was married for more than 20 years before her husband passed from cancer. She is the proud mother of four children and ten grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Jeanette embraced many roles: bank employee, babysitter, and devoted homemaker. Her hands were always busy and her heart always full. She has a natural talent for cross‑stitch, sewing, and all things crafty, and although she doesn’t do needlework as often these days, she still loves any activity that lets her be creative.
At Solana, Jeanette enjoys Morning Chat and Bingo, two activities that let her connect with friends and share in the joy of community. When it comes to meals, she’s a fan of lasagna and anything sweet, especially desserts.
"We are proud to recognize Jeanette Siukola as our Resident of the Month at Traditions at Solana! Jeanette has a wonderful way of brightening everyone's day with her warm smile and kind heart. She is always quick to lend a helping hand to her fellow residents, making our community an even more welcoming place.
Her family shared with us that she has been affectionately known as "Pinky" since birth. Ever since I learned that, we've shared a laugh every time we see each other when I greet her by her special nickname.
Jeanette is a truly special part of our community, and we are so grateful that she chose to make Traditions at Solana her home. Congratulations, Jeanette—we're lucky to have you!" - Ty Warner, Executive Director, Traditions at Solana
Jeanette says she truly enjoys living at Traditions at Solana. She describes the community as having great employees and friendly residents and says it “feels like being around family.” She loves helping the many friends she has made here. Her kindness and warmth brighten every room she enters.
We are grateful to have Jeanette as part of our Traditions at Solana family and honored to celebrate her this month.
